The Josalyn Art Museum<\/a>\u00a0is a great way to add color, movement, and life to an otherwise dreary day. The museum\u2019s collection is comprised of more than 11,000 works, including masterpieces by El Greco, Jules Breton, Auguste Renoir, and Claude Monet.<\/p>\n

Hit the Zoo<\/h2>\n

Omaha\u2019s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium<\/a>\u00a0was recently ranked the number two zoo in the country by the readers of USA Today<\/em>. A winter visit allows you to dodge the crowds and, even if the weather\u2019s bad, you can still enjoy indoor exhibits like the Dessert Zone, which features a full acre of desert habitat kept at a comfy 75 degrees. Yoga in the Aquarium is another way to heat up, while striking a pose right on the other side of the glass from the fish.<\/p>\n

Go Skiing<\/h2>\n

Mt. Crescent Ski Area<\/a>\u00a0is located just 15 miles northeast of Omaha in the mountainous terrain of the Iowa Bluffs. In addition to the ski runs, there is also a sledding hill and a Swiss-inspired lodge where you can sip hot chocolate and warm up before heading back out on the slopes.<\/p>\n

Indulge in the Dining Scene<\/h2>\n

Omaha isn\u2019t the first place that comes to mind when you think of exciting dining, but it was recently lauded for its thriving culinary scene by Livability.com\u2014and we\u2019re not just talking steak.
